“Why do they not teach you that time is a finger snap and an eye blink, and that you should not allow a moment to pass you by without taking joyous, ecstatic note of it, not wasting a single moment of its swift, breakneck circuit?”
Pat Conroy

I'm Ashley! Wilmington Photographer specializing in portrait photography. I really love couples, any children, and engagements/ weddings. I love seeing LOVE on film!

When I was a kid in the 80’s, my dad had this really cool vintage camera. He always let me play around with his camera whenever I wanted. He never told me not to mess with it, he encouraged me. My dad was so funny, he always had a camera or a camcorder (think bulky, 90’s era.) in hand! He loved capturing moments.

When I got to high school, I decided to try my hand at photography for real. I signed up for yearbook and was the yearbook photographer my senior year. I learned about light, how to use a sophisticated camera, and how to develop in a darkroom. It was one of my favorite things that I have ever done. Consider it my niche, of sorts.

Here I am, just a very few (haha) years after high school. My dad passed away and I went through a rebirth of sorts. His passing changed everything about me, from the way I view life to how I view myself. I was given a camera for Christmas by my very kind boyfriend at the time. I began to post photos that I had taken of my precious son on social media, and the rest is history. Things just fell into place. I know my dad is smiling down on my new venture.

Photography is something that is almost spiritual for me. I get emotional during the editing process of every shoot I do. Capturing a moment in time on film is one of the most beautiful things I can think of, and I take our time on this planet very seriously. Think about it, the moment that I snap that photo of your family- that exact moment- is captured forever in film, and can never be duplicated again. That’s a pretty important job, if you ask me.

My goal is to capture pieces of your life on film, in a comfortable setting. No one likes being uncomfortable during a photo session. I want to keep things happy and cheerful, because let's face it, how do you fake happy on film? I am laid back and I am excited to be at every session I do. I prefer we keep communication completely open. I am anxious to hear any of your ideas or things you want to try, so just let me know!

I love being around families, and my passion really lies in taking candid photographs of the natural interaction between the family members. I also enjoy fast-moving targets! (Read: I have a three year old of my own.) I take my time and make sure that I get the right shots of you or your family

Love with all your heart, don’t regret a thing, and live to your fullest potential.

Hope to hear from you soon! Xo
